I’ve set-up a membership site to receive PayPal payments that is integrated with Aweber email autoresponder that also uses their own PayPal IPN App, testing site it all works fine.
However yesterday I noticed that in my Aweber account that 2email subscribers came from purchased items that I just sold on eBay which shouldn’t be showing up in Aweber as subscribers to my mailing list. These were confirmed in my PayPal IPN history.
I emailed Aweber and it seems that the way I have it all set up, anyone that pays money
in to my PayPal account is going to receive a confirmation email from Aweber to be added to my mailing list. I’m informed that in PayPal I can add a product and that way I can set it so that only people who purchase that product will be added to the mailing list and that people that buy items through eBay aren’t added to my mailing list at Aweber.
How do I add a product in PayPal and make that product for my membership Aweber email list only and all other PayPal sales related stuff go through as normal? (I find PayPal a nightmare)!
Yes, the way you have setup AWeber with your PayPal account is not a very good one since it limits your PayPal account to be able to be used with anything else. You probably do not want that.
eStore has a better AWeber integration where you can chose which eStore products will signup your customers to which AWeber list. Our AWeber Integration documentation will explain how to set it up with eStore:

In terms of how to fix your PayPal account, you will need to contact the PayPal support team for it.
