I have a webshop, where I sell photosets and videos.
One of our customers bought, by use of PayPal,
a HUGE amount of photosets, for a total amount of about $750.
From the beginning, I didn’t trust this customer, because he ordered so many sets.
Today, this customer told me, that he didn’t understand the process of downloading the sets to his own computer. He had been streaming all the sets until today, until the download links in WP eStore expired, and now he cannot use the links any more.
Because he ordered hundreds of photosets, it would take me very much time to give him new download links, besides the fact that I was expecting issues because of unauthorized transactions.
So, about half an hour ago, I refunded all his money by PayPal.
Right after I did this, I received the following message from my WP eStore:
This is a notification email from the eStore plugin letting you know that a payment verification failed.
Please fully read this email as it will explain everything you need to know to address any issue(s) that maybe occuring (if there are any)!
The post payment verification for a payment notification failed. This could happen for one of the following reasons:
1. The fund for the payment have not cleared in PayPal yet (no need to do anything as the digital product will be delivered once the fund clears).
2. Someone maybe trying to scam a purchase! (no worries… WP eStore got your back
3. You have made a mistake somewhere (please see the failure reason section below to find out more details about this).

Does this really mean, that this guy gets his money refunded twice?
Once, because I refunded his payment, and a second time, because his payment hadn’t been cleared?

He won’t get the refund twice. I feel that PayPal’s system has identified this transaction to be a little problematic (potentially). The system put the transaction on a pending state so someone from PayPal can take a look at it. Just wait for PayPal to check it and then they will sort it out.
