I have a site of some 26 pages and 4 of these are under general protection with membership levels available from free to paid.
This means I assume that 22 pages are accessible at anytime by anyone visiting the site logged in or not?
In the video you show about granting access you seem to tick every page from about us through to contact us etc etc. Can I ask if this is really necessary? I have logged in as a user and have accessed my site without logging in and have ticked the grant access pages and unticked the grant access pages and it seems to make no difference at all? apart from of course those pages that are under general protection?
Can you please clarify if its really necessary to use the grant access option for all pages or if it works fine just granting access to pages that are under general protection?
Many thanks
You only need to grant access for pages or posts that are protected.
Hi I am currently having a similar experience. if I am logged in as admin I have access to all pages. If I am logged out I have no access to any pages.
I had general protection selected for all and used granted access. Result=I have no access to any pages.
I deselected general protection and selected “No, Do not protect this content. ” on the page. Result=I have no access to ANY pages, still.
How do I shut off the general protection?
My intent is to have a public home page and grant access to the other pages (private member pages)per membership level
