Hi,
I bought Photo Seller today and uploaded it to my site (stadtsegler.at) as recommended. It worked a while, I did some settings and everything was fine. I then wanted to create a gallery but couldnt upload not one image. The upload was running normally, but then I got for each single image the message “HTTP Error”. I couldn´t also see any more images in the media center though there are more then 20 images.
At least I was trying to check the settings again and suddenly everything was gone. I was kicked out of the backened of my site and got the message:
“Content Encodig Error
The website you´d like to open cannot be shown because there is used an invalid or unknown type of compression. Contact the owner of the website to inform about this problem.”
I couldn´t go backwards on my site and had to do deactivate the plugin manually on my FTP server. I installed the plugin once again and every time I tried to activate it again, I got the same message again. As soon as I click on “activate” I´m kicked out of the WP-backend again.
Until now I have installed, uninstalled and reloaded everything more then ten times and now I give up. I have no more idea what I can do to get the plugin running.
Does anyone have an answer and a solution for this problem? Would be perfect since my download link ist just active for 48 hours.
Thanks in advance,
Leo

January 7, 2015 at 8:27 pm #67855stadtseglerMemberThanks for getting back that quick. I´m sure it´s not Gzip because I´m used to upload tons of zip-files in differnt websites run by WP. So I always upload any plugin as zip-file as I downloaded it from the Plugin sites. I never had any kind of problem in the last 8 years doing this.
Concerning the browser, I use Firefox latest version, so I guess it should work on this browser correctly.
Any other idea?
January 7, 2015 at 10:04 pm #67856PeterMemberDoes the error occur when you use other browsers? Eg, have you tried with Chrome?
Have you looked at your server logs to see if there is any more information regarding why this might be happening?
Are you uploading your images using the gallery settings page uploader?
January 7, 2015 at 10:23 pm #67857stadtseglerMemberHi Peter,
I do not use any other browser. I always work with Firefox and usually there are never any kind of troubles. There is also no logs showing certain information concerning this error.
I tried to upload via Upload-Button the plugin offers and is recommend in your tutorial. So I followed strictly the rules but it didn´t work anyway.
January 7, 2015 at 10:48 pm #67858PeterMemberYour site in general looks like it is locked down. When I try to visit it I get a message saying that the site is “private”.
Is there any chance you can unblock it so we can publicly view the site?
Also, can you please try a small test. Can you upload one of the images for which you saw “HTTP Error” using the wordpress uploader in the “media” menu? Can you check if you see the same error there too?
January 8, 2015 at 9:43 am #67859stadtseglerMemberHi Peter,
problem is solved. In the new theme I use, my webmaster had activated Gzip in the function-file because of compression reasons. This was the little code in it what let it all stuck:
ob_start(“ob_gzhandler”);
So it’s removed and the plugin ist working properly for now. Maybe you’ll think about to get over this issue for future updates.
Thanks for you support.
Regards
Leo
