MemberHi there,
I have just deleted some pictures from my gallery that were displaying correctly.
It was a test gallery so I thought only to add one image to it, then maybe make the post private / password protected.
However, upon loading in a new images / images when I check on the updated live page there is a question mark where the image should be. I have tried deleting the gallery and the post and recreating it but with no luck. I have also tried a new gallery type i.e. 1 / 2 etc… nothing. I am little stuck.
The photos are certainly in the gallery and I cannot see anything that I am doing differently than when I first created the functioning gallery.
My website is here…http://www.53northcreative.com/test/
Thank you.

KeymasterEdit the gallery and select a different gallery template (just for testing). Save the gallery. Does the image thumbnail show after that?

MemberHi,
sorry I have only just seen your reply (to both of you )
Thank you so much, however it didn’t work… I tried cleaning the cache and choosing a new gallery template. The photo still won’t show.
I want to start selling galleries of photos in the next month so I really want this to reliably work. This is the second time I have had to write in here. I can’t see that I am doing anything wrong. I have used this plug-in before rather successfully so I can’t understand now why I am having problems.
Thanks for your help.
Jennifer.

MemberNow it is giving me a different problem. Only displaying the name of the file not the actual file itself…
I have deleted all new plugins that I added on recently but nothing.
I read it can be some sort of access problem…ht something? I am not sure what that means though.

MemberCan you try the following test:
1) Using cpanel or FTP go to following diectory wp-content/uploads/wp_photo_seller
2) In above directory rename the .htaccess file to temp.htacces
3) Check your front page to see if the gallery displays properly

MemberOkay, I am not an expert at this stuff. SO I tried using the my website 53northcreative.com/wp-content/uploads/wp_photo_seller
I was not allowed access.
So I tried the FTP. The connection opens but then closes.
I really do not know what I am doing here.

MemberOK. UPDATE! THAT WORKED!! My friend did it for me. However, does this mean I have to do the same thing when I create a new gallery? I need to make multiple galleries as posts when I start selling the photos online and need them to be reliable.

ModeratorIt means there is “something” about the content of that .htaccess file, that was renamed. Please post the contents of that temp.htaccess file.

MemberOk.
So now that we know the cause of your issue can you please provide the following info:
1) what is the full content of the .htaccess file you just renamed in the uploads directory?
2) What version of Apache is your server running? (you may need to ask your host support for this)
