Not sure if this would be an eStore or eMember request (it may be both)
I would like to be able to protect a page based on weather or not the member purchased that product in much the same way a page can be protected based on membership level.
I know this is done using the Pay-per-view setup
I run a video tutorial site and each member is at the same level however each video can be purchase separate of each other.
The pay-per-view works but sometimes users have issues with it (or I’m not using the best way)
and I’m using the “What you have purchased” shortcode so the user can have access to their product
but I think it would be easier to protect pages by checking to see if the user has purchased that product in much the same way the protect pages based on membership levels works.
That kind of feature would best be accomplished (in the future) with an addon, since there is overhead for those who are not using the feature.
Whenever an APR shortcode is encountered on a page, such an addon would quickly check to see if the page is a “product” that was purchased by the member. If so, the APR cookie would be automagically set. The difficulty in implementing such a feature is that if the member later updates their email address (in the profile), it would be “out of sync” with the customer table.
Ah i see. So i’ll continue using the APR
Thanks
