Free products having emails sent even after inventory reaches 0

Why is it still sending out emails after inventory reaches 0? It then goes into the negatives, but still sends an email, this is frustrating, I don’t want emails being sent after 0, hence there being an inventory control number.

This shouldn’t happen. What shortcode are you using? Are you using a caching plugin?
