Hi
Using the ‘Free Members Must Confirm Their Email Address’ option, I have set up my page but the form doesn’t seem to work.
When I submit the form no action happens. It just goes back to the same page and no confirmation email is sent.
What else am I not doing to make this work properly.
Here’s the page if you need to try it: http://newbizmatters.com/offlineleadgeneration/free-registration/
Thanks
Jeffrey

Do you by any chance have multiple copies of the eMember plugin in your “plugins” directory? This post will explain the issue caused by this:

June 11, 2011 at 9:14 am #33237JeffreyBensonSpectatorHi and thanks for your response. I have re-installed the script according to your instruction but nothing works. I knew the reinstallation wouldn’t resolve the issue but wanted to do it. Every other thing is working well on the site. What it means is that people can just subscribe with invalid email addresses and yet still gain access to my products because without confirmation in place, it will make no sense.
I used the free member must confirm shortcode, but when I signed up myself, I did not receive any email. In the first place, the form doesn’t even submit. All it does is just reset itself when I submit. It doesn’t go to a thank you page or send out confirmation email. Something is wrong somehow. Please look into this.
Thanks
Jeffrey

[free_rego_with_email_confirmation]
It looks like you placed some HTML form code on that page (not sure where you got that idea from). Or you have a plugin which is causing this weirdness. Please make sure you don’t have a plugin that changes WordPress’s shortcode (this is against WordPress’s coding guideline).
Anyway, please update that page with the above shortcode and it will behave as documented.
Basically, you need to make sure that when you edit that page in your WordPress’s editor all you see is the following line of code:
[free_rego_with_email_confirmation]
This post might help you identify the problematic plugin:
