The pop up FlowPlayer video does not seem to work on any other computer except my own G5 Mac? Is there any reason for this to happen? Have I made an error in the settings – I followed the video tutorial on website.
http://home-exercise-rehab.com/
The website is WordPress v3.2.1 using Thesis Theme v1.8 – with both Wp-eStore v5.6.3 & Wp-Lightbox v1.3.2 being used at present.
The video appears on the home page url http://home-exercise-rehab.com/ in the right hand column (which is Sidebar 2). As I wanted the image linked to the video to appear in this sidebar, so had to include the Short Code within a Widget – I selected the Text widget and added this code into the widget.
[wp_lightbox_flowplayer_protected_s3_video name=”introher_h.mov” bucket=”homeexerciserehab” width=”320″ height=”240″ source=”http://home-exercise-rehab.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/11/IntroHER.jpg” alt=”Intro from Gina John”]
I came to this code following the video tutorial (How to embed protected videos from Amazon S3). When doing this it seems to work fine when viewed on my Mac (which is a older PowerPC G5 running with Mac OS X 10.4.11) but not on any other computers – I’ve tried about six. All it does is change the url address to add a ‘/#’ after the domain name.
I have entered the AWS Acces Key ID and the Secret Access Key details in the General Lightbox setting – I’ve also ticked both the ‘enable Flowplayer’ and ‘enable WP lightbox Special’ in the Library settings.
I did also try with various other combinations of code, including the long url version and using the ‘Lightbox Special’ video player – none worked.
On the AWS S3 console I have set the follow permissions for the introher_h.mov file
Grantee: (my email) and ticked “Open/Download’ ‘View Permissions’ ‘Edit Permissions’
I did try it with permissions added for ‘Everyone’ but this did not seem to work either, so, as per the video tutorial, I removed that.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Kind Regards,
Paul Daly
November 24, 2011 at 11:29 pm #38838wpCommerceModeratorHi, It’s working fine on my computer (not using mac). What browsers did you test it on (on the other PCs)? I don’t think platform would be a problem to play video using Flowplayer (as long as you have flash player installed).
Anyway, it’s good to install a recent build of the plugin as we continually fix bugs.
Please do the following:
1. Deactivate and delete the currently installed version of the plugin(s).
2. Download a fresh build of the plugin(s) from here:
https://support.tipsandtricks-hq.com/update-request
3. Upload and activate this version of the plugin(s).
Let me know how it goes.
