Hi, I have two questions regarding flowplayer

    1. I have designed a custom skin using [http://flowplayer.org/designer/], how do I add my design to work with the plugin? I know how to add css, that I can do.. but your player doesn’t have a play/pause button by default and many other things, how can I enable them?

    2. What format should I upload to work on all major browsers and devices?

I am currently uploading videos in mp4 format and I am using this [http://www.datagoround.com/lab/] (as recommended by you)… now the thing is mp4 support came to firefox only after version 22… so in order to make my videos on older version should I use a different format? and what about all other older versions of browsers? (I am not talking about IE 8 or below, but it should work on atleast IE8+, Firefox 5+ etc )

By the way thanks for sorting out the issue related to iframes!

Hi, I have already replied to your forum thread here:

We have updated all the major shortcodes including the player. So you probably won’t need to look for a custom player.

I would recommend you to upload a video in MP4 format (H264 encoded). Currently this is the widely used video format which most major browsers support (including iOS devices). Here is a good resource on encoding videos: https://support.tipsandtricks-hq.com/forums/topic/mp4-video-plays-only-audio-video-is-black

You won’t be having any issue with Firefox since the player is responsible for playing the video. Firefox only complains if you manually embed a video (using HTML5 <video> tag) and the video format is not webm.

I already installed the latest version of the plugin, what I asked in the above question is how do I customize the skin based on this [http://flowplayer.org/designer/]

The player you included doesn’t have a play/pause button and I wanted to change a few things there… How do I do this?

Hi, what do you mean by “The player you included doesn’t have a play/pause button”? which shortcode are you using? Can you please provide a link to the page so I can take a look?

The designer option is for advanced customizations. Currently we don’t have that type integration which will also work with lightbox. So if you are planning to directly embed a video on a post/page (without lightbox) you can still use the code generated by designer.
