Hi,
Our membership runs from 1st April to 31st March each year. How can I set the subscription duration to allow for this and allow members to renew during the year and therefore add a further 1 year membership. The nearest I can see is using the “Expire After an Interval” option but this adds 1 year to their original joining date.
We are currently using CiviCRM for our membership which has an option to have a fixed start date which is set to 1st April.
I have seen other posts in the forum asking this question. Has a solution been created yet?
Regards,
Roger
January 15, 2015 at 12:46 am #68013adminKeymasterThis is how you can handle the setup you are going after.
1) Create a new membership level. This is just an intermediate membership level to collect all the members.
2) When members are signing up for this special course (that will begin in the future), put them in this new intermediate level that you created in step 1.
3) Go to the following eMember interface on the day the membership should start:
WP eMember -> Admin Functions -> Bulk Operation
Use the options there to bulk change the subscription start date and then the membership level to the appropriate level that gives them access to the content.
There is also a step by step instruction on how to do it here (it maybe a good read for you):

Actually it’s not courses we are selling but a school Alumni site. So we have members who pay each year, others who pay for five years and some who are life members.
Using the Bulk Operation I can now see how to change the subscription start date when I import all our existing members, and this will help, but it seems that new members will either have to have a membership based on 1 year subscription from the date they joined or we will have to manually change the start date of each new member to fall inline with our annual membership dates.
The method you suggest probably over complicates things.
For future ref it would be nice if the developers would add the facility to create a fixed start date, say 1st April regardless of when people actually joined.
