Lightbox Ultimate – Is the File Type WMV Supported with this Plugin?

I have a wmv file that I have tried to get to play in a lightbox, but I keep getting an error that I don’t have “something” turned on in the settings. I have tried various combinations but nothing works.

Please advise if this plugin supports wmv files.

Hi, Lightbox Ultimate doesn’t support WMV (Windows Media Video) type file. In fact this is not the appropriate format for playing web videos.

Currently MP4 format (with H264 encoding) is widely used for embedding web videos. All major browsers as well as smart phones can play this format. You can read more about it here:

You can either produce a video as mp4 or convert your existing wmv file to mp4. You should be able to do it using a video converter.

If you need to convert from WMV to MP4, you can use the “nagware” program MediaCoder.
