1.) The discount coupons once entered cannot be changed which makes the automatic discount feature somehow useless if you’re using multiple coupon codes.

2.) Only one parameter can be applied for discount codes while there should be option to have multiple parameters like in wp-e-commerce. If you would like to create a coupon of 10% discount for purchase off 10 or more quantity of Product ABC, then you cannot create it, you can only only create 10% discount on purchase of 10 or more quanity or you can create 10% discount on purchase of product ABC.

3.) There should be an option for grid display of products.

4.) More payment gateways should be there such as alertpay, moneybookers, libertyreserve, ccavenue, etc.

5.) Adding an autoresponder option of imnicamail would make it delightful for internet marketers.

Few bugs :-

Coupons cannot be deleted,

A coupon expired itself even when there’s no expiry or limit set for it.

When you hit the delete coupon there is another confirmation that appears at the top of the page. Sometimes your eye can miss that confirmation prompt.

“A coupon expired itself even when there’s no expiry or limit set for it.” – edit the coupon and put a expiry date that is far into the future. Alternatively, you can put ‘0000-00-00’ in the coupon expiry field and it won’t check for expiry on this coupon

Also you might want to throw some light on these as the discount coupon parameters are extremely limited and sellers like me who’re selling multiple services from one site and are offering different type of discounts to different type of audience for different products, its not possible using the current functionality of estore coupon system. Supposedly most of the others too will get benefited from this

Any updates on these issues? I’m looking forward to adding multiple products and services to my site but it cannot be done with wp estore as I’m using quantity discount for my main service and don’t want to use any discount for my other products and services. I don’t really want to move on to another plugin due to the great functions offered by wp estore but just the discount coupon feature is driving me away to opt for another plugin.

I can look into taking the constraint out for automatic discount application so you can apply a coupon then still apply the auto discount. I won’t do anything about number 2 though. Complex Coupon functionality can be a great source of plugin instability and adds a lot of weight to the plugin for very little benefit. WP eStore is well known as a plugin that is very stable, lightweight and just works. It is expected that this plugin will not fit all your projects (I understand and believe that there can be no one solution for every project) but that is okay by me.

thanks for your kind response amin, i’m now looking forward to sort out a way as i want to stick with wp estore but this coupon functionality limitation is driving me nuts.

Can’t you just add one parameter to coupon functionality that certain coupons can be made limited to one product? And rest being the same as that too should sort it out well enough and supposedly it won’t complicate the functionality of coupons.

Also is it possible to exclude certain products from the main “products page”. So if I want to sell certain products only through private sales they don’t appear on products page.

You can already create coupons that is limited to one product. Choose the following condition:

Item ID -> is equal to -> 1 (1 is the item that is coupon is valid for)

Categorize your products then display products from that category using the appropriate shortcode rather than displaying all your products. This way you can exclude some products from a certain category and display whatever products you want on your Products Page.
