Feature Request – Add IP address to top level in WP eMembers Manage Members

In a future release, is it possible to consider adding a field for the IP address that an active user is currently using when logged on, which is visible in the WP eMembers Manage Members area in WordPress, rather than having this IP address only visible when you click on Edit to view a particular members details?

This would be useful because it saves time in knowing which member is logged on if you have many members. I use IP tracking software, and it would be useful to quickly match the IP address shown in the tracking software to the username of the logged in user.

Just to clarify.. “Last Accessed From IP” records the IP address a member used to login to your site. It doesn’t meant that the user is currently logged into your site.

Yes, sorry that is what I meant.

I can already see that a user is logged in from my analytics tracking software and I can see their IP address. It would be useful to quickly check in WordPress eMember manage members panel to find the username that is associated with that IP address.

We used to show that info in the manage members interface but then some users complained that there were too many columns there. So we removed it from there and made it a little more compact. The manage members interface is for an overview so it is not possible to show every bit of info in that interface. Lets say we have room for 10 columns in that menu so we try to show the most useful info in those 10 columns.

Maybe we can create an addon which lets you show more columns in that interface without penalizing every eMember installation.

I think it would also be useful to see all the IP addresses (on a list) used by each member.

I have a related question as well. When I edited a section of a member’s profile (I just added notes in the Admin Notes field), the “Last Accessed from IP” changed to MY IP address. Is that normal? If it is, then I wouldn’t be able to see the actual IP addresses used by my members every time I make edits on their profiles.

The IP address does get shown in the manage members interface as well as when you edit the user’s record.

We have fixed a small issue with editing the user’s record and IP address changing.
