Tagged: certain future date, Expiration Date, manual access
I have a membership plan than runs for 31 days and when payment is made, membership is extended another 31 days. That way when a member cancels they still have access to the site for the remaining period of their membership. I would like to be able to change a members expiration date. Even though they are canceled in the system and won’t be billed, I would like them to still have access to the site (for a few more weeks or longer, if I choose to decide to).
The problem I am running into now is that a member expires. And I make a deal with them to give them a few more weeks access to try the site out more and I reset their account to active. The customer tries to log in and they are reset back to inactive. Even though I set them to be active again. It’s because they are past the renewal period, so the system is resetting them back to inactive (as no payment has been made).
It would be nice to be able to manually set an expiration date so you can give the member access up to a certain date that you set (even though no payment has been made) and then their membership will expire automatically.
At the moment a member’s expiry date is automatically calculated based on that member’s membership level. We have a few different options in the membership level:
1) One time access for a certain period
2) Access based on Recurring/Subscription payment
3) Access until a certain date
You can create another membership level where you specify a certain expiration date. Then when you are doing a deal with a member, you can change his level to the other level and that should do it.
In the future we do have plans to introduce another option where you can set an expiry date on a particular member’s profile (without worrying about the membership level).
That is great to hear! What a wonderful feature to add! The ability to set individual expiration dates would be awesome.
