Fatal error: Allowed memory size when trying to activate plugin

just bought the plugin and tried to activate and got this error:

Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 50331648 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 30720 bytes) in /home/visumsal/public_html/www.french-property-advertising.com/wp-content/plugins/s2member/includes/classes/menu-pages.inc.php on line 449

thoughts please? does it not work? it worked on my local install where I tested first before deploying to the live site, now i deployed i get this error in the dashboard. I can get the error to go by removing the plugin directory.

I only downloaded the plugin today and do not believe it is corrupt as it worked locally (same file).
