Hi,
I have an estore setup where I have the product on two pages.
On page A the product is presented using a thumbnail gallery (fancy display type 3)
On page B the product is presented using an individual page just for that product with more detail (fancy display 10)
Currently when you click either thumbnail it takes you page B.
I’m trying to make it work so that when the thumbnail is clicked on page A, it takes you to page B for more detail. Then on page B when the thumbnail is clicked it opens a lightbox. Is this possible?
Thanks in advance
December 17, 2014 at 10:59 pm #67504adminKeymasterThe easiest option is to duplicate this product. Use the “Thumbnail Target URL” field for one to link it to page B. For the other, it will just be lightbox.
On your Page B where you have all the details, you don’t actually need to use a fancy display. It can just be the add to cart button because that page already has all the details and explanations of that product.
Here is what I mean by just the add to cart button without any fancy display template:
December 18, 2014 at 4:44 am #67505blackwolfmanMemberHello KeyMaster,
Thanks for taking the time to explain thoroughly effort much appreciated.
Basically, I had included the thumbnail link- which took me ages to setup for each individual product- but it sends me into a loop from the fancy 10 display. I need the fancy 10 display for presentation and verification reasons. It might not be feasible to duplicate the whole product library as other plugins (slideshow thumbnails) lead to the product description page. it would become really messy and cumbersome. It already is with all the linking. I’m looking for some way to be able to choose say whether the fancy 10 shorcode should be forced to use lightbox or not hence overriding the thumbnail link.
It seems when I don’t have thumbnail link and I have lightbox ticked in the Estore settings lightbox works. Then I add the thumbnail link and it overrides lightbox. So maybe there’s a shortcode that can be added on particular pages that will allow lightbox to override but only on that page.
I’m researching at the moment with the rel=lightbox short code.
All this may be asking too much but if any ideas let me know. I will post any success details if I manage it. Complete amateur so don’t expect too much from me.
Thanks in advance.
December 18, 2014 at 11:00 pm #67506adminKeymasterIt doesn’t have an option to turn off the lightbox in the shortcode.
It maybe easier for you to not worry about the thumbnail (keep it as it is with the lightbox). Just enter links in the product description field that links to the details/landing page. You can see an example of what I mean here:

Alternatively, we can do a custom job for you so one of those fancy display just never shows the lightbox.
