Dear Amin and Ivy,
Facebook Log in is becoming popular amongst my members – current WP plug-ins for this will do the WordPress log in, but not an eMember login. What are your plans in this area?

August 4, 2010 at 11:10 am #23041jalgunnMemberAmin,
http://developers.facebook.com/docs/guides/web – see single sign on section. This the Facebook developers page about it
http://mashable.com/2008/12/11/facebook-connect-blog/ this is an article and video about it on Mashable, which may mean more to you than me.
http://www.cbs.com/community/login/loginform.html?desturl=http://www.cbs.com/ an example !
http://www.vimeo.com/log_in – another example
I would also like all the other Facebook widgets and so on, but I think the login (connect) bit is the one that I want re-assurance about. WIll this work with emember and WordPress logins ?

If you have a plugin for wordpress that allows you to use facebook login for WordPress then you can use eMember wordpress user integration feature to achieve a similar goal though.
April 2, 2011 at 12:09 am #23043AaronMemberHi
Thanks James for asking for this. and thanks Admin for saying it is possible.
I want to use facebook login to access my Free Membership Level. I got the plug-in that allows you to use facebook login for WordPress, it’s called WP-FB-AutoConnect.
With this plug-in now people can sign on to wordpress using their facebook info, but it doesn’t sign them up for my free membership.
How do I give anyone signing into my site through wordpress (or the facebook API) an automatic free membership?
May 9, 2011 at 2:44 pm #23044hoffybalboaMemberI am also extremely interested in this feature. This makes the registration process extremely simple and clean.
The plugin I have found to be most intersting is http://www.gigya.com for SSO Facebook integration. They have an open API and the combination of these two components would be extremely powerful and simplify the registration process.

September 26, 2011 at 6:20 am #23046webzebedeeMemberI would like to see this being done as well. Are there any updates to a Facebook Login for WP Emember?
September 28, 2011 at 9:35 am #23047derixcMemberIs there an update to this already?
September 28, 2011 at 11:58 pm #23048adminKeymasterNope, no update for this.. we experimented with this feature and hit a few roadblocks around eMember custom registration fields and Facebook’s standard registration fields.
November 2, 2011 at 10:59 am #23049coolvibeMemberI am looking forward for this feature.
* Facebook connect had some major changes including the https for login.

Thank You
May 13, 2012 at 7:31 am #23052adminKeymasterWe didn’t get a lot of interest for this feature so we postponed the development of it for the time being:
May 16, 2012 at 2:50 am #23053coolvibeMemberHighly interested in this feature!!!!!! FB, G+,Twitter login all via OAuth 2.0 is an essential requirement for us.
