Hi, I’m using nextendwe social connect plugin together with wp-emember and buddypress.
The problem I have is the following: I reister and connect a user with the facebook connect. The new user is created in the wp-emember and it is given the proper membership level.
Now, wheneever I login with “login with facebook” that this user is logged into wordpress, but still shows “restriction” message that this content is resrticted only to logged in users. I think the problem is that somehow the wp-emember doesn’t get logged in the background with the facebook connect login. Can you please suggest what to do?
In fact, the problem is the following: whenever I set to “not protect” a page, then this page DOES show up…so I think the problem is with the protection levels are not taking into consideration whether I’m logged in with the facebook connect or not…
Looking forward to your help
Andrew
August 21, 2013 at 11:14 pm #57310siker007MemberI just have one more question regarding this: can eMember work with third party authorizations, and if yes, what callbacks or cookies must be used to set the logged in user session?
August 22, 2013 at 2:21 am #57311adminKeymasterHave you enabled all the options explained in the following documentation?
After you log into the site using facebook connect, can you go to the emember’s login page and verify that it shows you as a member who has been logged in?
Have you tried the following facebook connect plugin?

August 22, 2013 at 11:01 pm #57313adminKeymasteryeah, eMember works with the facebook connect plugin. You shouldn’t have to set any cookie manually, that option takes care of it. You didn’t provide an answer to my other question though so I am not sure if the login is truly working. I sent you an email to get access to the site so I can check it out.

and is there a way to NOT log in wordpress users when they log in….
June 20, 2015 at 8:38 pm #57315djinannaParticipantsome functionality concernss. I don’t want people logged into wordpress when they use their Facebook email to sign up. is there a way to do this? its messing up the functionality of the website
June 20, 2015 at 11:48 pm #57316adminKeymasterFacebook logins will always log the user into WordPress. Thats how those plugins work. If you don’t want users to be logged into WordPress then you can’t use the social login plugin.
June 23, 2015 at 2:25 am #57317djinannaParticipantI fixed this by adding a plug in that hides the admin bar.
I noticed peoples names are not importing into emember when they sign up with Facebook. Is this not a functionality? Thanks
