I Installed the Plugin ant set it Enable Domain Level Lockdown. I created four Membership Levels Cortesia= A trial Subscription for 5 days; Mensual= Monthly Subscription; Plata= A six months Subscription and Oro= A Year subscription. I created a Subscribe Button in Paypal just for the paid subscriptions. The issue is the following: I subscribed myself as a Cortesia Membership that is supposed to last 5 days, after that the account shall be set to Expired and when trying to login the user must be redirected to the Tienda page where he should buy the Membership Level he wants. My account has expired (yesterday) but although the account appears to be Expired at the Members List after I make the login I have full access to the site and the content is not protected, and in the Login area says: Login de Usuario
Has ingresado como: Valelionel (UN)
Tu nivel de MembresÃa es: CortesÃa (Membership Level)
Estado de tu Cuenta: expirada (Expired)
Renovar (Renew)
Salir (Logout)
but after that; the login page does not show anymore no matter if I close the browser or restart the computer. I have access to the site as before the Plugin was installed.
I need to solve this because from now on every day there will be users whose accounts will expire.
I will really appreciate your help
September 4, 2011 at 12:22 am #36203adminKeymasterI saw that Ivy sent you an email to get site access. I will look into it when you reply the email.
September 5, 2011 at 2:32 am #36204adminKeymasterI did some checking and it looks like you have the following option checked in your eMember settings:
Allow Expired Account login
This is why you can log in using the expired account but it doesn’t mean that this account will be able to see any protected content (content that you have protected under the “Manage Content Protection” tab).
September 5, 2011 at 3:01 pm #36205LionelMemberHi;
Maybe I wanted to do something that is not allowed by the Plugis. I just created a Free Content Plugin ant then protected the rest of the content. It took me a while since there are a couple of thousand of Posts.
But now I notice that Members who has bought a subscription appears to be with the Cortesia Membership Level. Is it not supposed to change when a user buy a subscription or do I need to set it manually, or is it Paypal who manage the subscription and the Membership Level?
September 5, 2011 at 7:47 pm #36206LionelMemberHi, users are getting in touch with me because they are receiving this message: You’ve Reached Your Daily Login Quota.
How can I disable it?
September 6, 2011 at 1:00 am #36207adminKeymasterWP eMember Settings -> Login Restriction by IP Address -> Use a higher number here
When a user make a payment their membership level will only be upgraded if you have hooked this payment button with a membership level (the video tutorial explains how to do this). If you don’t want to upgrade anyone’s membership level then simply create a PayPal button without connecting this button to any membership level.
The video tutorials I am referring to are here:
March 20, 2013 at 6:34 am #36208rhodianMemberHi,
I’ve a free membership level along with a number of paid subscription membership levels setup. If free membership users do not purchase a subscription within 30 days, they should only have the ability to purchase a subscription. I have also set the ‘allow expired users to login’ so members can renew at anytime.
When a paid subscription membership has been purchased and it expires I have noticed that the membership level is made blank and the expiry date set to ‘Until Cancelled’ (on Manage Members admin page). As members are permitted to login, they have access to the content. They can even view the content that is protected by shortcode ([emember_protected for=…]).
How can I setup the system such that when the paid subscription expires users revert to the free membership AND when the free membership expires that they have NO access other than to purchase a subscription?
Thanks
rhodian
March 20, 2013 at 11:03 pm #36209adminKeymasterThe following should not happen (this is most likely the source of the issue):
I have noticed that the membership level is made blank
There should always be a membership level. When the account expires, it simply sets the account status to “expired” or “inactive”. At this status, users cannot see any protected content.
First, we need to investigate and see why the membership level of a user is getting set to blank (this usually indicates a wrong setup somewhere).
– What version of eMember and WordPress are you using?
– Are you using auto upgrade feature of eMember? Go to the auto upgrade tab and see if you have accidentally enabled that feature.
– What value are you using for your membership level’s subscription duration field?
March 21, 2013 at 2:14 am #36210rhodianMemberHi,
Answers to your questions are below:
1. I am using the latest version (8.5.7). I loaded it yesterday – I’ll setup a member to expire today and see what happens with this new version
2. No, I am not using auto upgrade
3. Subscription duration is set to ‘1 months’
If you provide me with an email address, I will create an admin account for you to log in and look at the configuration.
Regards
rhodian
