Tagged: Expiry Email, GDPR
I just had a membership period lapse and five members had their memberships expire. The notification email was addressed to User 1, and Users 2-5 were copied on the BCC line. This means that can Users 2-5 can see User 1’s email address.
This is a serious privacy violation for paying customers. How do I change this so that customers aren’t seeing each other’s email addresses? Is there a way to manually set the email that goes in the “To” line and all the other emails go in BCC?
This is a little tricky as we need one valid address to send the email to (for better email delivery). Do you want to hardcode an email address that will be used as the to address all the time? Would it be your own email address?
Yes, I would prefer to hardcode one of my own addresses as the primary recipient if that’s possible.
I have added a new settings field for this. Now, you can go to the “Email Settings” menu of the emember plugin and scroll down to the bottom. You will see a field called “To Email Address for Batch Emails”. Use it to configure a “To Email” address.
You guys are great! Thank you!
