Hi!
I was wondering if the following is possible.
I want Members to log into a Members area on my website and when they do, they can go to a page that is an editable excel spreadsheet. I don’t want to give them a downloadable spreadsheet, I want the whole page to be an editable spreadsheet.
The reason is that I will create for all new members, an excel spreadsheet relative to their current financial situation and rather than having them download, edit, save then upload the spreadsheet to their email or desktop etc, I want to have them log in and a whole wordpress page is an editable excel spreadsheet where they can edit the info, save it and log out.
Is this possible?
Thanks in advance. Claude

So all you need to do is find a solution that lets you place an editable excel spreadsheet on a post or page and then protect that page using eMember. eMember will make sure that only members can view that page and interact with whatever you have on the page.

I have already used eMember on another website and I know it’s power and I loved it!
My worry is not in protecting the page – I know how to do that – it’s more about the spreadsheet and what can I do?
I apologize because my original question was probably obscure.
In your answer above you wrote: “So all you need to do is find a solution that lets you place an editable excel spreadsheet….”
That’s the question I’m asking – do you know of any plugin or solution that can allow me to have an editable excel spreadsheet on a page (as big as a page) that clients can edit and save and the page stays there, rather than a downloadable link etc?
Thanks again! Claude
August 17, 2011 at 8:22 am #35576adminKeymasterTo be honest with you I do not know of any plugin that can be used to embed excel spreadsheet in a WordPress post or page… never faced with this question before.
August 17, 2011 at 1:12 pm #35577wzpModeratorTry this…
http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/google-document-embedder/
The best part is that the document can be hosted anywhere.

The plug in is great but I know how to embed a doc – the issue is I need to embed a doc that can be edited by a client live and then be saved live without having to download the doc or save it elsewhere.
I want clients to be able to view their own personal spreadsheets and be able to edit them directly from my WordPress website.
Weird huh?
August 23, 2011 at 3:39 pm #35579wzpModeratorHow is that different (besides cost) from using the corporate/team versions of Google Docs and Office Live? If I was something like an attorney, I’d just use those options and then bill the client as an office expense.
