I am looking to setup an online shop for a client and I have a query.
Is it possible with the NextGen intergration to have an image with multple products attached ie:-
Image 1
Product 1
Product 2
Product 3
Image 2
Product 1
Product 2
Product 3
None of the products are digital downloads.
Thanks in advance
July 10, 2012 at 3:58 am #47128adminKeymasterYou can place as many buttons as you want for as many products below each nextgen gallery image. However, I am not sure why would want to have multiple products for each image? Can you explain the scenario a little so I understand what you are trying to do?
July 10, 2012 at 8:36 am #47129DebayneMemberThanks for the reply,
My client wants to sell printed products from his website such as frames prints, canvases etc in various different sizes.
So the scenarios is this
Image 1
Products available for for Image 1 would be
Print 10×8
Print 18×12
Canvas 8×8
Canvas 16 x 12
Image 2
Products available for for Image 2 would be
Print 10×8
Print 18×12
Canvas 8×8
Canvas 16 x 12
And so on
Which Nextgen Gallery integration would be the best to use for this?
Thanks
July 10, 2012 at 11:40 pm #47130adminKeymasterOkay, I would recommend you use the first method. That will give you the freedom of putting as many products as you want under each nextgen gallery image:

Also, just wanted to let you know that you don’t have to use nextgen gallery integration for what you are trying to do. You could configure everything in eStore then use one of the fancy product display option to list them:

Using NextGen – Is there anyway to do this so the add to cart options only show up on a popup/new page when the image is clicked and not on the gallery view?
Using fancy products display, would I need to create the options (ie print, canvas, etc) per image? Or would I create the options and link them to an image?
Sorry for sound so stupid LOL, just trying to get my head around the best way to do this for my client.
July 13, 2012 at 12:24 am #47132adminKeymasterThe best option would be to use variation control. So for each of your image products, you will have the following variation:
Print 10x8
Print 18x12
Canvas 8x8
Canvas 16 x 12When a order comes through you will know which product and which variation the customer ordered and then deliver accordingly. This way you don’t need to make lots of products for each image. You can read more about how to use variation control here:
The will work for both situation: Fancy display and nextgen gallery option. If you use the fancy display, you won’t use the nextgen gallery at all. You will specify the image for each of your image product in eStore’s product configuration. Then display all the products using a shortcode to make it look like a gallery of image products.
Watch the 2nd video tutorial and just do what it does and you will get a good understanding of the fancy display and then you can extend on it:
