I need assistance in setting up a coupon for a specific scenario.
Users are encouraged to sign up for Free – and for doing so will receive a 1-time coupon for 20% off any store item.
I want them to login to their “member page” and there they will see the 1-time coupon code. They then can apply to their checkout.
Is there a way that I can set up it so that if they log back in at a later date, that that coupon code, associated with their member credentials no longer works?
Or is there another method I am not thinking about?
thanks for any suggestions!!
WP eStore does not have such coupon option unfortunately. eStore allows you to create one time coupon but they are not for each customer. That coupon can be used once.
Its best if you create a simple coupon with a expiry date and let your customers use that. Every few weeks you can delete the coupon out and create a new coupon. This way the old coupon is not in circulation anymore.
ok – so a one-time use coupon means that they can apply once per transaction – but login the next day and use it again?
A coupon with a “Redemption Limit” of one means it can be used only once and then it will expire.
So, i really can’t offer my members special coupons that are guarded against them sending to non members?
Can i have one of their pages expire after x amount of days that has all of the discounted items on it – so they cannot access those items after the days have passed?
sorry, I am just looking for a solution – as i sold client on this architecture and have spent last 2 weeks customizing both eMember and eStore.
can you hack something together for us if we pay ya?
You could use the auto upgrade option. This way after a specified amount of time their membership is upgraded (to a membership level that does not have access to the discount shop page).
Please see the following post as it will explain how to use this option in the WP eMember:
I would also like to offer what Jomo is suggesting.
