I’m using “License Manager plugin” to generate and sell licenses for my software.

I’m using the text link feature of eStore to create a “Buy now” button (href=”mydomain.com/?wp_eStore_buy_now=<product code>”). In this way users can buy a licence without registering for my website.

This feature collect some Paypal data for users that complete the check out process (“Manage Customers” menĂ¹). So it needs to be GDPR compliant. For my knowledge of GDPR, a checkbox have to appear and needs to be checked before redirect to Paypal page (but maybe I’m wrong).

Can you help me with this?

    Thanks!

All you’re doing is redirecting to PayPal. Unless you are using the Payment Gateway Bundle addon; all payment data stays on PayPal.

There is a limited exemption for small and medium-sized organisations. If you have fewer than 250 employees, you only need to document processing activities that:

    • are not occasional; or
    • could result in a risk to the rights and freedoms of individuals; or
    • involve the processing of special categories of data or criminal conviction and offence data.

We already have the “Terms and Conditions checkbox” option that you can use for it. In your terms and conditions page, you will just add another section (or paragraph) for GDPR. This way, if anyone is purchasing from you, they are agreeing to the terms beforehand.
