Hi Support
I have searched the forum regarding the removal of the + sign in the variations dropdown box. There have been many requests but have not actually found whether admin has given a definitive answer as to how if at all, it is possible to remove?
I have a situation where i have the options to select a variation and the system to reduce the base price. The arithmetic works fine and all is ok, the problem is the display does not make it easy for the buyer.
Visually this is in the selection box ‘One[+£-25.00]’ Surely we must be able to remove the plus sign if we wish to discount a price, not increase it????
Many thanks in advance

Hi DWhitt,
Normally a variation will add to the base price which is why you see the “+” symbol.
You could potentially hack the code to remove it but then it would not appear for either case where you are adding or subtracting from the base price.
Are you sure this is what you want?
Hi Peter
Yes, I agree that the normal process would be to deliver a price increase for a variation but i am trying to keep the client happy. He wishes to have a base price and then dependant on certain criteria they would obtain a deduction in the price. So i simply gave a base price and then used a (-)minus price to give a final figure. The plugin does the arithmetic perfectly fine but the visual aspect is difficult with the + and the – visible if all that makes sense??
Any guidance appreciated.

You can change the “+” character to something else like “Add” but you can’t remove it totally. Look for the “Variation Addition Symbol” field in eStore settings to configure this.
If you only have one variation then you can make your base price 0 and your variation price can be the full amount.
