Hi
I have two related questions/problems.
1. Our store will sell physical and digital products. The physical products come in a number of different formats, and we will be shipping to customers around the world, so we need different shipping costs for different combinations of format and destination. The shipping options in eStore do not appear to be able to accommodate this level of sophistication, but I was thinking I could simply use a Variation Control on each product to add the appropriate amount to total cost for shipping this product type to the destination selected (e.g. Country|UK:2|Europe:5|Rest of world:7.50). I haven’t seen this suggested as a solution to shipping problems anywhere in your supporting material or forum, but it seems like the obvious answer. Is there any reason why shipping couldn’t be handled this way?
2. I’ve been trying to test this solution out. I’ve added a sample product to the store, with a Variation Control applied, but when I click Add to Cart the product is added to the cart without any reference to the option selected from the Variation dropdown, and without the selected value being added to the total. In an attempt to troubleshoot I tried simplifying, by using a Variation Control without a value (e.g. Color|Green|Red|Black), but even this doesn’t seem to be registered by the cart as it is on your demo page (http://www.tipsandtricks-hq.com/ecommerce/how-to-use-variation-control-in-wordpress-estore-plugin-345#wp_cart_anchor).
The test page for my store is here:

Any help or suggestions would be gratefully received.
Thanks

2) Your web page is missing all the JavaScript for eStore which is why the variation is not working. Lets identify the source… please do the theme test mentioned here:

July 17, 2012 at 8:09 pm #47336subexoticMemberThanks for the reply. We had the Mailchimp widget installed, which is on your list of plugins that conflict with eStore. I deactivated and deleted the Mailchimp plugin but Variation Control still doesn’t seem to be working. Do I need to do anything else to remove the conflict with that plugin?
July 18, 2012 at 12:54 am #47337adminKeymasterThe issue you are facing would be related to bad theme coding. So do the theme test first.

Thanks
