eStore – using subscription and buy now settings in the same product details

If I have a product that will be available for both a full price and a subscription price (i.e. a program registration that allows for one full payment or 3 payments of $97) do I have to set up two separate products?

Or can I put the subscription settings in the appropriate place and also specify a Name/Price in the Product Details?

If I can do that, and use the appropriate type of shortcode (buy now or subscription) depending on which button I want to display, then everything should still work normally right?

Its best to create two separate products (one for the buy now and one for the subscription option). Using 2 different shortcodes for 1 product will work too.
