I’m a wedding photographer and I would like to use eStore to deliver a digital downloadable zip file of the final wedding collection.

The client has already purchased the collection, so I don’t need to use a shopping cart.

All I need to do is give them a download link, or a link to a page with a download button, which links to the zip file on my server as an encrypted download, giving them limited downloads to that link (so other people cannot use it). The idea is to prevent them from letting everyone they know download the entire collection.

I’ve been watching the tutorials, but it seems like all digital delivery has to be done with the shopping cart.

I’ve setup a product with the URL, description, download limit, etc, but when I try to setup a delivery page with a “download” link using the “[wp_eStore_download_now_button id=1]” command, I get this error:

“The secure download manager ran into a problem that it couldn’t handle, and is unable to process your download request. Please contact the site administrator.

Please tell the site administrator the problem was due to the following reason:

The download script couldn’t locate the file associated with the digital product. If the administrator thinks this reason is in error, maybe a different URL conversion option might fix the problem.”

Any idea? What am I doing incorrectly?

What you can do is use the Admin Functions to manually generate an encrypted link to “their product,” and then have the system email the link to them.
