    Greetings:

I am working to set up my new estore. NICE plugin!!! Thank you for this.

I am looking for a way to keep product numbers associated with respective product and possibly be able to associate with supplier. More specifically, I foresee the situation where I may have the same product from two vendors.

Let’s say Product A has UPC of 123345

I am able to get 3 from supplier x

    and I get 4 from supplier y

The item has the same bar code as the universal ID. Which is good for tracking number and only have one product listing.

    Supplier x ID is rrr

Supplier y ID for the same product is ttt.

I hope this make sense…Please let me know if it does not.

What suggestions are there for this? Is there a field I have not found, yet?

    Thanks much!

There is nothing preventing you from adding a product’s UPC to its product name or description. The UPC will then be displayed, whenever the product description is shown on your site.

The eStore plugin only tracks inventory, at a “product pool” level. It does not track or enforce inventory draw-downs from specific vendors; as this is a seller-procedural (i.e. “human”) concern.

I used to own a brick and mortar bookstore. In the physical world; when inventory needs restocking, the purchasing department uses its own vendor database. Purchasing department uses the “vendor du jour” and when the items arrive, just adds them to the existing shelf stock. In this case; the only thing what would affect draw-downs would be expiration dates, product recalls, and product revisions.
