Tagged: discount coupon
Hello,
I sell a variety of digital downloads using eStore, but lately I am focusing on all-ages coloring pages. I had an idea to have a “create your own bundle” type promo where people can choose the designs they want for a 6-pack and it would be 6 for the price of 4. Unfortunately, I need two conditions for the coupon code to work:
1) The products must be from a specific category.
2) The subtotal must be a certain amount.
So it would be IF all the products are from the “Ornamentals” category, AND the subtotal is $12, apply a $4 discount.
It doesn’t seem this is possible with the standard coupons/discounts, or bulk discount, or dynamic coupons. But maybe I am not thinking creatively enough? Is there any way to do what I want, or do you have any suggestions on how I might accomplish this create your own bundle idea?
Is there any chance multiple conditions could be added to the coupon options?
Thanks,
Sue
Hi Sue, Try the following to see if that works for you.
1) Create a conditional coupon that applies a discount if all the items are from a particular category
2) Now, enable the “Use Automatic Discount Feature” feautre.
3) Use the “Apply Coupon Automatically for Sub-total Over” field to specify your minimum total that will make the cart auto apply this coupon.
Yes, that works… sort of. It limits my automatic discount options so I can only do a bundle like this for one category, and also the math is weird. All my products are priced at $2.00 and the discount is $4. The subtotal amount has to be set for over “11.99999” because over 12 doesn’t work, and then it says it is applying a discount of $4, but the new total displays as $7.98 instead of an even $8. I guess that is because it applies the discount evenly across the 6 products. I can live with that but just thought I would mention it.
It spreads the discount across all the products, instead of applying it directly to the total, as an anti-fraud measure.
