Hi, I’m new to eStore, so there’s probably a fix somewhere that I’m not seeing.
I’m setting up my store (digital products only) and I wanted to add a product that I am affiliating for (another digital product that would need to be downloaded from their site). I am able to link my affiliate link to the “details” button and the graphic of the product, but I can’t seem to figure why when I add my affiliate link into the field that links to the “add to cart” button, it keeps giving a 404 error when I try to test it out from my store page.
I am using version 8.0.5 (eStore). I don’t think I modified the plugin code. Here is the affiliate link (leads to The Gardening Notebook sales page):
schneiderpeeps.com/ebook/the-gardening-notebook-2/?ap_id=StoneFamilyFarmstead
I add that link to the field called “Button Redirect Target URL” it takes me to a 404 error page on that same website that hosts the page it’s supposed to go to. The explanation of the field says this next to it: “Only use this if you want the Add to Cart button for this product to go to the specified URL above (example: a landing page, sales page) instead of adding the product to the shopping cart. Useful when you are selling/promoting product of others.”
I feel like I must be missing something….
Thanks in advance!
July 20, 2018 at 12:00 am #78198adminKeymasterThe URL you shared works fine for me. I can go to that page and add an item to the cart to purchase it.
Let me understand which of the following you are trying to do:
1) You are using our affiliate platform plugin and you are expecting affiliates to send customers to your site. This is when your affiliates use the links that are offered in the affiliate plugin.
2) You are going to use the add to cart button to send visitors to an external site. This is when you use the button redirect feature of eStore to make sure button be an affiliate link (instead of a normal product that you are selling from your site).
Are you after #1 or #2?

WP eStore -> Settings -> Advanced Settings -> Use Link for Button Redirection
Let me know if it works better after that.
