I’m using estore 7.0.9 and have been for some time now quite successfully.
Today all my google short code download links have been disabled by google.
This is happening no matter what browser the customer uses.
I made no changes to my site for this to start happening.
I researched via the google short URL forums and it appears a single link can be disabled if someone reports it as spam. And this can happen if someone accidentally clicks that option someone along the line. And according to them, the fix is for me to submit the URL as not spam in a request for them to fix that.
And if this was a single download link from my store I’d say it’s no big deal. However EVERY shortened link generated from my site today has been banned – Regardless of product ordered. So I reset the store to go back to the long links again.
It’s a quick fix – sort of. However, some of my customers have issues with the long links and I find I have to regenerate links for them often. So I’d really like to go back to using the Google Url Shortener option.
Is this a new problem? Anyone else has experienced recently? Something I can correct at my end?
Anyone know?

Here are some of the short links that have been affected:

Thank you in advance for any assistance you can offer.
Thank you!

All shortened links generated from the estore are now disabled by google.
No matter if the product was ordered today or in the past.
It’s as if my entire site as been banned. Interesting.
I’m still researching google to see if it’s something about my site/domain that is causing this to happen.
June 13, 2014 at 11:26 pm #63684adminKeymasterIts something specific to your site/server. Link shortener feature is working fine (I just tested it myself).
Disable the Google Link shortener feature in the settings then do the following:
Enable the following option:
eStore Settings -> Advanced Settings -> Enable Alternate Redirection Method
You will still get reasonably short encrypted links that are on your site.
