eStore – Shipping & Handling issue

Absolutely LOVING this amazing plugin, but I have an issue that I just cannot figure out (but I am not ruling out I may be overlooking a simple fix) and request your assistance:

I am using WordPress 5.2 and wp eStore 8.0.8 – Our website is BagOfFlames.com (we sell kits for painting flames on vehicles).

I put $3 as the base shipping and under shipping variation I put Country|USA|Canada:3|International:12 as I was instructed on this site. Then I set individual shipping per each project (Basic & Complete kits 4.95, Pounce kit 1.95)

Now, when testing this, it works great for USA, but when I select Canada or International, a shipping charge of $9.95 appears – I cannot find anywhere how I could have set this up.. And if you increase the number of products, this mysterious shipping increases as well.

Please help me figure out how to correct this, if possible. Thank you!

I think you are using the individual and base shipping amount also. The shipping variation amount will get added to whatever your total shipping amount is from the (individual item shipping + the base shipping cost).

The individual item shipping will multiply if you have more quantity of items.

I just checked your site, it shows me 7.95 for USA. Then if I select Canada, it adds $3 to it from the shipping variation and makes it $10.95. So that looks fine to me.

Is your (individual item shipping + Base shipping amount) not adding up correctly?

On the page, and in the shopping cart, it is showing the proper amounts. However, when you head over to PayPal itself, PayPal seems to be adding $9.95 shipping. For instance, if I select the Complete Kit, keep USA, and go to PayPal, instead of the $xx.xx that it should be, it bumps up to $47.85

When I use the drop down, PayPal shows this:

Item total $29.95 USD

Shipping $9.95 USD

Handling $7.95 USD

So that’s the issue – we don’t understand where the extra shipping charge is hiding. Perhaps this is more a PayPal issue and not your plug-in? We’re just not sure, to be honest.

Sorry, instead of $xx.xx that was supposed to read $37.90 – oops!

That is happening from PayPal profile based shipping that you configured in your PayPal account. So it is adding the shipping based on your profile settings. There should be an option in your PayPal profile based shipping settings that says something like “allow the shopping cart to override shipping”. Do you have that option enabled?
