Tagged: amazon s3, AWS Secret Key
Hello,
I am trying to setup the integration between e-store and AWS3 what requires 2 Keys
since April 21 you can not retrieve your secret Key on the Amazon site…now what?
I am planing to sell mostly digital products.
The content in the setup tutorial is not up to date
You log into “My Account” and then click “Security Credentials” on the left sidebar.
I know that but since April 12 Amazon does not give you access to your secret key anymore
So here is what I did In the interface of AWS3:
1. I setup a user group with Admin rights
2. I setup my website as user in the admin group
3. I retrieved the access id and the secret access code for eStore
4. Copy and past the codes as needed
I have not been able to test the site and I have no clue if it will work.
Yes, that should work.
It says “In the future, if you lose your secret access key, you will have to create a new access key ID and secret access key. To learn more about this change and best practices for access keys, see the AWS Security Blog.“
The future is “now.”
Which means you’ll simply have to create a new set of keys. Nothing else has changed. Your bucket and its contents is still the same; the only thing different is that you have to create a new set of keys.
…and this time, they want you to keep the secret key in a “safe place.”
Note to others: If your eStore is already configured for S3 with an existing set of keys, they should still work. You may want to copy down the “secret” key from the eStore settings, and save it in a “safe place.”
