eStore – setting up coupon codes for specific situation

I have a home study course that I sell online, I want to offer the customers who buy the course the chance to upgrade to the full e-course if they wish to do so in the future.

I thought I could include a coupon code in the home study pack, is there a way to prevent the code being used by people who haven’t bought the home study pack? Say, if a customer decides to share the code?

You can definitely give a special coupon for a specific product but you can’t make a coupon specific to a customer only. Its actually never a bad thing if your customer shares a coupon with someone else. It just mean extra sales for you. If you are really worried about that then you can apply a limitation on how many times that coupon can be used. That should take care of that sharing situation.
