eStore – search results do not link to thumbnail target URL

Hi.

WP eStore is a great plugin which I have used on a couple of sites. The latest store, is on an extranet with restricted access (so I cannot provide a link on the open forum but will email you with the URL and a login if you wish). The eStore is to enable dealers to order various sales support items including brochures, exhibition material, promotional items, clothing. For brochures the URLs provided in the Thumbnail target URL link to a pdf of the brochure. The links work fine in the list of products, but in search results the hyperlink opens the jpg image of the brochure that is in the Thumbnail image URL box. I note there was a similar issue raised on the forum a year ago but it doesn’t appear to have been resolved.

The shortcodes I am using are:

[wp_eStore_category_products_fancy id=1 style=1 order=3 show_price=0]

I am using WordPress 3.5 and WP eStore 6.9.0.1.

Hi Fiona, We have updated the extra shortcodes plugin so it takes into account the “Target Thumbnail URL” value. When you specify that value in a product, the search result will also use that value to link the thumbnail image.

That is superb, thank you. Just one other question, is it possible to make the target thumbnail URL of the search results open in a new window? In this case the target URL is a pdf download so there are no in-site links on it. Using info from another post I have got this working in the store itself, but this hasn’t carried through into the search results.

We made a little change in the addon so that all the links shown in the search result will open in a new window.
