I need to charge sales tax to Californina residents only so I followed the instructions at:
and changed (‘WP_ESTORE_APPLY_TAX_FOR_CERTAIN_AREA’, ‘0’) in the eStore_advanced_configs.php file to (‘WP_ESTORE_APPLY_TAX_FOR_CERTAIN_AREA’, ‘I live in California’)
Now, the 8.5% tax is automatically charged even if the “Enables tax calculation” box is check or not.
Is there another file I need to edit?
Keep the “Enables tax calculation” option unchecked since you are using a different option.
Please share a link to the page where I can go and add an item to your cart (I want to inspect a couple of things).
Which payment gateway are you using?
Thanks for getting back to me!
Here’s the preview page:

I put the cart at the bottom of the page for now, it’ll get moved to a separate page later.
She’s using Payeezy Global Gateway e4 through the authorize.net emulator
I just checked it. The cart doesn’t apply any tax until I check the “I live in California” checkbox. So I don’t see any issue with this. I tried it in Firefox and Chrome.
After saying, as soon as you add an item to the cart, it shows a “Tax” in the shopping cart?
