eStore product download link shows as code inside eMember section protection

I have both eStore and eMember set up, and have a significant number of my site pages using per-page protection.

However, I discovered that when I inserted section-protection code, the entire page excluding the section I’d protected was dumped into public access. I need the page to be members-only.

So I worked my way through the page, inserting section-protection codes for each section, and got the page back to being protected. Except now the product link I want my students to be able to download shows up as the following.

Code:

[wp_eStore_download_now_button id=5]

No button, no download.

At the moment, I have the choice of having my page public, or dealing with people who can’t download their course worksheets, and a ton of broken-link customer service e-mails.

I’d appreciate any help you can offer on getting this to work.
