Hello,
I’m looking for some help with an eStore I”m trying to setup for a client– I’ve used this plugin may times with several clients and not had this issue before– This IS the first install of this version of the plugin however, she just purchased it last month so I believe it is the most current version.
– Plugin Version: Version v6.9.9.4
– WordPress Version: Version 3.7.1
I have buy now buttons setup on three product pages and am able to pay at PalPal and I do receive the confirmation emails with active download links however PayPal is not returning me to her website, even when I click the button to return it doesn’t transfer the data so the download link area is blank.
I swapped the buttons from ‘buy now’ to ‘add to cart’ and even tested by running items through the shopping cart– I end up with the same result. I get to PayPal, make the payment (price is set at a penny), PayPal fails to return me to the Thank you page. I DO receive the emails with the download links and they are active.
Here are the Page links (the website is under construction but not restricted in anyway):
Product Page 1: [http://gladysanderson.com/our-products/attracting-more-wealth-abundance/]
– Shortcode utilized for ‘Buy now’ button: [wp_eStore_buy_now_button id=1]
Thank You Page: [http://gladysanderson.com/estore/thank-you-for-your-purchase/]
– Shortcode utilized to display downloads: [wp_eStore_display_transaction_result]
We have double checked settings to insure the following:
eStore Settings, Post Payment Processing Settings:
– Automatic Post Payment Process is selected in the eStore setting
– Enable Transaction Result Display is on and the shortcode is correct on the thank you page.
– There are no extra spaces after the Return URL.
eStore Settings, Payment Gateway Settings:
– PDT Identity Token is correct
PayPal Profile Settings:
– Auto Return is set to on
– Payment Data Transfer is turned on
Any suggestions/help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance,
Melissa

PayPal should be redirecting the customer to the following thank you page after the payment (I have checked the code in the button and the plugin is definitely adding that instruction in the button.
So just to confirm…. You are saying that when you click on the “Return to merchant” link on Paypal’s payment confirmation page, you don’t get sent to a URL like the following?
….estore/thank-you-for-your-purchase/?tx=XYZ123ABC&amt=……
That would mean that PDT is not enabled correctly on this merchant’s PayPal account. It is a standard feature of PayPal to send users to the above mentioned URL when PDT is enabled in that PayPal account. So you might want to ask PayPal tech support so they can take a look at this client’s PayPal account profile.
November 13, 2013 at 1:29 am #58884MelissaMemberThat is correct, it just brings me back to the base thank you page URL, there is no return token/code added to the end of it, like it should have from Paypal.
That is what I was thinking, that it was a PayPal PDT issue either it’s not configured 100% correctly on the clients end or there is just a PayPal malfunction. I will check in with PayPal.

November 19, 2013 at 3:17 am #58885MelissaMemberJust wanted to drop back in and let you know that it was in fact an issue with the PayPal account. It took about 30 minutes on the phone with support and them getting their tech. team involved. They resolved the issue within the account itself and the AutoReturn & PDT started working correctly.
The eStore is working flawlessly. Thanks for your response earlier, I appreciate it.
