Hi. I am using eStore and eMember to create a membership website.
I am done doing all the setup and now I am in the testing phase.
I have setup a product, buy button, sandbox (buyer’s and seller’s account) and almost everything (perhaps).
Now, when I click on the buy button, I get to the Sandbox’s homepage. After successful payment, I get redirected to the site back. But I am not getting the email containing the link that would take me to the registration page to complete registration process.
I have checked the inbox in sandbox’s dashboard. It shows the email for receipt conforming that they payment has been received. But it does not get the email that will give me the link to registration.
Wouldn’t it work with sandbox?
Please note that I have tried both ways, using localhost and online server but I don’t get the email.
Any help?
In sandbox mode, you will NEVER get the contents of any emails. The “sandbox” inbox does not accept email from sources external to PayPal. That’s just the way PayPal has it setup.
The following is a good read for you:
So there is no way to check other than the real money?
I actually want to check the following two things
1- If the email things is working?
2- What fields would be in the registration form, the link of which the user will get after successful payment.
Right now, in sandbox, I can make a successful payment but that won’t let me go to the registration page for that particular user.
In other words, the user won’t get registered even after making a payment.
Changing your membership price to $1 (temporarily) and doing a test transaction is the best way to test the system. As everything will work how it is suppose to on a live environment. Sandbox testing is good for a certain kind of testing but those emails are not reachable so you will never be able to test the email side of things when doing sandbox transactions.
