Using Photo Seller plugin. Paypal collects for the order, processes credit card, pays me, reports delivery, but the download/thankyou is not being sent, order not delivered.
March 2, 2018 at 2:04 am #77369wzpModeratorDid the buyer receive any emails, besides the one from PayPal?
Please activate the debug logs, perform a test, and post the log results.
March 2, 2018 at 8:27 pm #77370GuinnMemberThe buyer received notification of the credit card charge via a thank you from Paypal. I received notification of the charge. The buyer should have received a download link – which was working 2/24. No download link is being sent now. Inmotion Hosting can find no problem with the email system.
March 2, 2018 at 8:51 pm #77371GuinnMemberSetting Paypal test and enable logging to “on” produces no response.
March 2, 2018 at 10:57 pm #77372GuinnMember1) To see the issue you would have to make a purchase from the gallery on the website. You would receive a thank you and notice of a charge to your credit card.
2) http://www.guinnsgraphics.com/photogallery
3) make a purchse – any photo. Then wait to receive acknowledgement from Paypal.
4) WordPress 4.9.4 and the Photo Seller 2.3.3
5) If you are using a shortcode that is not working then copy and paste the exact shortcode that you are trying to use so we can see if there is a typo or some other information in the shortcode is missing. N/A
6) If the issue/error you are seeing only happens at activation time (when you activate this plugin) then tell us which method you used to upload the plugin (the WordPress plugin uploader or an FTP program like Filezilla?). N/A – used WordPress to upload & install
March 2, 2018 at 11:22 pm #77373PeterMemberHi,
When looking at the photo seller log file I can see the following:
[LOG DATE: 03/02/2018 10:09:09 pm - Server time zone UTC]
Buyer notification email sending failed from the server. Therefore it appears that the plugin is sending the email but something is not quite working on your server.
Please try the following troubleshooting steps:
March 3, 2018 at 5:36 am #77374adminKeymasterThe debug log file should show that the plugin is receiving the IPN message from PayPal (when logging is enabled). If the file is now showing that then it means the plugin is not getting the IPN message from paypal.
There are 2 reasons for that to happen:
1) The IPN feature is not enabled in your paypal account. Please check and make sure the IPN feature is enabled in your paypal account. The following tutorial tells you how to enable it:
https://www.tipsandtricks-hq.com/ecommerce/how-to-setup-paypal-ipn-notification-2796
2) There is a security or firewall type plugin on your site thats blocking the IPN message. Or your hosting provider is blocking the IPN message. The following test is helpfur for this:

March 3, 2018 at 10:33 pm #77375GuinnMemberIPN is enabled in Paypal – I checked my Paypal settings. And I’m receiving their notices of payment.
The Theme Check plug in page says “This plugin hasn’t been tested with the latest 3 major releases of WordPress. It may no longer be maintained or supported and may have compatibility issues when used with more recent versions of WordPress.” So I didn’t use it.
I’m not using any of the “Bad” plug ins listed and do not use a WordPress firewall.
I’ve deactivated several plugins I’m not using, deleted one.
March 3, 2018 at 10:36 pm #77376GuinnMemberAlso, when I used the email check plugin to send test emails, I received no emails. WP/Photo Seller email is not working.

Yes it does. I can see output in your photo seller log file. (see my points below)
Your IPN is being processed successfully by the photo seller. And in addition to that the photo seller is actually sending the email – by that I mean it is executing the email function which sends the buyer and seller emails. However this is returning a failure. See the logs below:

Checking if PayPal IPN response is valid

IPN successfully verified.

Buyer notification email sending failed from the server.Did you do the troubleshooting steps I gave you previously?
Also I recommend that you look for the server error_log file to see if there are logs related to this email issue.
Another thing you can do is to perform a plugin conflict test.
Email issues are almost always solved eventually and usually found to be something else outside of the photo seller which is causing an issue.
March 4, 2018 at 2:01 am #77378GuinnMemberI installed the email check plugin and sent myself an email – which was reported as “Sent”, but I did not receive it. I cannot change the “from” until WP receives confirmation from an email sent to me – which I’m not getting.
This version of the email functionality plugin does not allow for option 2, but I sent to other addresses, all hosted by Inmotion and none have arrived.
I disabled all plugins except Photo Seller and the email checker before the last email send.
All was working on 2/24.

This is the point. Things don’t just stop working for no reason. Something has changed on your system to break that functionality. The inmotion support guys will be able to help you. (I’ve had an account with them for years and they’re generally good for support)
A few more things to do/check:
– enable debug for wordpress core. (google how to do this – it’s fairly easy)
– explain to the host support guys that the wp_mail functionality is not working for your setup. Tell them it does not appear to be related to a single plugin and that you have tested it with multiple plugins.
– on your server there will be a php error_log file. Look inside it (or ask your host support guys to help you find it). Check to see if there are any logs related to wp_mail
