The plugin doesn’t seem to be sending emails. I have looked throughout the forum but can’t seem to find an answer that helped or applied exactly to my problem.
The plugin displays the download link on the site immediately after purchase and customer receives the Paypal email but there is no email from the plugin with the link. I have tried using the WordPress emailing system and the plugin’s php script and get nothing with either. The only showing up in any of the debug scripts is in the post payment debug file. I get the following, with no mention of sending an email:
[07/22/2012 7:01 PM] – SUCCESS :PayPal PDT received. Processing the request…
[07/22/2012 7:01 PM] – SUCCESS :Processing PayPal PDT…
[07/22/2012 7:01 PM] – SUCCESS :Saving transaction data for thank you page display.

July 23, 2012 at 12:07 am #47631adminKeymasterYour IPN option is most likely turned off in your PayPal account.
Please go through the following two checklists and you will find the issue (works every single time)

March 31, 2015 at 1:41 pm #47633SevMemberHi. I’ve been using the eStore and eMember plugin for nearly 3 years – without any problems. I’ve just added some audios to the shop which get downloaded. It all worked fine for a couple of days – now I’m not getting any post-purchase emails (which contain the links for the downloads) sent out at all. I haven’t changed any of the settings.
I’ve got a couple of ‘squeeze boxes’ for some free audios – and the email with the link works fine with that – so its just the post-purchase email that isn’t working. Any clues? Many thanks.
March 31, 2015 at 2:14 pm #47634SevMemberUpdate – I checked Paypal IPN – interestingly it wasn’t turned on (could Paypal have turned it off??) weird – because its all been working up till now. So I switched it on – and turned on the debug report. It shows that when a product that involves eMember is bought – it sends the customer post-purchase email ok. But when a download product (ie eStore only – not involving any kind of membership) is bought – the debug IPN report shows everything is scucessful – but doesn’t show that the email is sent out (ie it is just missing from the list). Not sure what this might mean? Any ideas gratefully received.

April 1, 2015 at 2:48 pm #47636SevMemberHi Thanks for the links. I’m still struggling a bit! Here is what I’ve done:
a) tested that emails can be sent from WP (using your Email Functionality Tester) – all working
b) Double checked Paypal has IPN enabled – it does
c) reset and turned on Enabel Debug report – the problem is that I can’t actually see anything that says ’email sent successfully’ – so I’m stuck at this point. Buried in this report is the customer email – so it looks like the system has captched the email ok.
Any ideas what I should look at next?
many thanks
April 1, 2015 at 11:06 pm #47637wpCommerceModerator@Sev, Have you checked the eStore_post_payment_debug.log file?
Share the URL of your products page so we can check your log file and see some details.
April 2, 2015 at 8:30 am #47638SevMemberHi. Here is a page with one product on it:
I’ve also turned off URL shortening (Bitsy) for now – just to simplify the error-checking process.
and here is the log file I get (post-payment debug):

April 2, 2015 at 3:36 pm #47639SevMemberUPDATE – I think I’ve figured it out! A combination of two things: a) wrong use of URL for amazon s3 files and b) re-installing the plugin (after a storm caused a powercut – which I figure may have corrupted something or other).
Many thanks for all the pointers – really helpful. Sorted.
