I am using eStore with PayPal checkout and need the customer phone number. I have followed the instructions on the following page to make phone number compulsory
But the phone number is not coming back into the order information in the admin area … I have checked through the forum and not found an answer
Please turn on the debug logs, and see if the phone number is being returned in the IPN.
Also, in the seller email, the phone number should be displayed with either the {customer_phone} or {shipping_info} email tags.
Finally, how is the buyer making payment; by credit card, or with their PayPal account?
Remember that paypal doesn’t force the customer to enter a phone number by default. So the phone number will only be present if the customer entered one during hte checkout.
You need to make a change in your paypal profile and make it so the phone number is a required field for the checkout. Then paypal will enforce the phone number collection and it will be available for every transaction.
