Tagged: Cancel, cancel subscription, PayPal
We have a product set up with a 30 day free trial. Users that are canceling their subscription before that 30 days do not change their status in the wp-estore users panel in wordpress admin. Not only that, but neither PayPal nor the plugin is sending an email to indicate this subscription was canceled. Is there some way to cause this to happen? Not necessarily the PayPal sending the email, since I know you guys have no control over that, but is there some way to get the estore to update their status?
eStore won’t even add the user’s entry until a payment is processed after the free trial. So there is nothing to update on estore’s side. When the subscription is cancelled, PayPal will send an email to both the buyer and the seller letting them know that it was cancelled. Are you using this free trial for a membership payment plan or something similar?
Yes, something similar. So if the user cancels, we have no idea, as long as they did it inside their free trial? That’s really annoying.
So now we’ve got another problem-the eStore is not updating the status of people who HAVE made legitimate payments. So I suspect this may be due to the same problem. It’s just not updating anyone at all. Any idea why this might be?
Lets take a look at what the plugin is doing after a payment. Please enable debug option then do a test transaction:
Post a link to your product page after that so I can check a few things.
Oh ok I wasn’t even aware that was a thing. I’ll take a look at that and see what happened.
The problem seems to be happening from the 30 day trial, so will we have to wait 30 days in order to get the proper messages? Back before the 30 day trial there didn’t seem to be any problem with this, so I suspect it has something to do with the trial. I suppose I can check with a 1 day trial and see if that has the same issue.
It will be better to setup a test product with 1 day trial then testing with that product.
