Tagged: sales tax
When shipping out of state, we do not collect sales tax. I have two options for each product: in-state customers are charged sales tax, out-of-state customers are not. To do this requires two product set-ups for each item. My settings are set up to collect sales tax. For the out-of-state option, I set the item specific tax as 0 as per the Tips and Tricks guide. The sales tax item works fine in the shopping cart. The other one still calculates a sales tax at a small percentage. In this case, with sales tax set at 8% but item specific tax set at 0, the tax calculates at .0085714. There should be NO tax at all! How do I fix this?
