Hi All,
First and foremost, I’ve avoided e-commerce applications for a while, frankly they scare the fool out of me! Here’s the situation.I have a site that will allow people to register (eMember) and then purchase (eStore) an online memorial. I would like to have it so that people can purchase multiple memorials at one time that they can use within a specified time period. (All stated up front) I’ve read the recent thread on “Purchasing ‘credits’ for later redemption” but not sure it is the same thing. What is the easiest way to accomplish this with eStore? I’m still in the early stages but want to figure this out first so I know where I’m going, if you know what I mean.
Thanks in advance and know that this “bad penny” will be back!

May 12, 2012 at 4:09 pm #44991wzpModeratorWhat exactly does “memorial” mean, in your context?
May 12, 2012 at 8:40 pm #44992babrayMemberIt is a pet memorial site, where that the user creates a memorial to a pet. Just like it sounds, creating text, uploading photos etc.

May 12, 2012 at 9:04 pm #44993wzpModeratorSo, at the most basic level, you are selling memberships. And each “member” is allowed to “author” a page?
May 12, 2012 at 9:30 pm #44994babrayMemberYep! That is a great way to look at it!

May 12, 2012 at 9:55 pm #44995wzpModeratorSo, again, at the most basic level; the product being sold is the WP capability to author one WP page, that is viewable by the public.
While eMember can obviously take care of the authoring part; the difficult part is to find a way of metering the number of pages an eMember user can create; with the metering aspect being controlled by eStore.
At this time, there is no built in way to do this. It could possibly be done, using a lot of manual intervention by the administrator.
* eStore would have to notify you whenever a purchase was made.
* You would then create a template page for the user, that they can edit.
* The user would then be allowed to edit the purchased pages to their heart’s content.
May 13, 2012 at 1:36 pm #44996babrayMemberOkay, catching on now maybe! Thanks, WZP, for your patience!!! To create the forms and all, I’m using Formidable Pro. Let’s try a what if situation. What if during the registration and sign up process they must actually provide the names so that the pages can be created and saved as a draft. Then they can come back and fill in the details later, but only on those pages. What I am seeing from your guidance is that the actual naming and saving of their 1 or potentially more page(s) needs to be part of the initial process (somehow) …or so it seems to me. For instance, if they purchase a 3 page package, they would initially be given the opportunity to enter the names, and on clicking okay, they are saving a draft of the page that they can then go back, edit, fill in etc.
Am I closer to understanding this thing? Maybe???
Again, many thanks for your patience!

May 13, 2012 at 1:48 pm #44997wzpModeratorClose. You would then have to manually process the forms, and create the initial pages for them. They would then be given WP editing privilleges. for the pages you created.
Since you are still in the idea stage, why not try this? Setup a testbed on your PC using The Uniform Server, load WP, eStore, eMember and your other plugins; to test the concept?
Don’t bother fooling around with testing the payment process, just concentrate on the signup, and page creation process.
May 13, 2012 at 2:11 pm #44998babrayMemberCool! I have wamp set up on my local PC but The Uniform Server sounds really nice! I will definitely check that out more to be sure. I have parts of the forms and all done and have things on the site behind a maintenance plugin anyhow, but always link local testing!
I really appreciate your patience and willingness to walk me through a process that I find both daunting and new! I really cannot say thanks enough! Like that proverbial “bad penny” and MacArthur combined…I know I’ll be back!

Thanks
Denis
May 17, 2012 at 4:03 pm #45001Handsome007MemberI found a solution. Disable the href in the eStore script you are using !
In the view directory. Regards.
note: Do not resize pictures when downloading and voilĂ !!
May 18, 2012 at 12:20 am #45002adminKeymasterYou can also use this method if it is suitable for you:
