Hi there
I know this has come up a lot, but I can’t seem to find a clear answer. I want to receive different currencies. As far as I understand the multi-currency addon only converts the currency display but the payment is still processed in the general settings estore currency.
I saw this post:
https://support.tipsandtricks-hq.com/forums/topic/multiple-currencies-extension-for-estore/page/2
Is there an addon which allows the user to select the checkout currency and then process the payment in that currency?
The multi-currency support for a Buy Now product is not suitable because it means we can’t accept coupons for those purchases which is a key part of our store.
Thanks for your help. Just trying to get to the bottom of this before I go for the less-than-ideal option of the multi-currency addon.
Have you checked the multi-currency addon?
http://www.tipsandtricks-hq.com/ecommerce/wp-estore-multi-currency-addon-2030
check the usage documentation from the above page.
Did you read my post?
The multi-currency addon DOES process the payment in the currency the user selects. So if a user converts the currency to say for example AU dollar then the transaction will be charged in AU dollar. If another customer converts the store currency to UK pound and then checkout, the transaction will be charged in UK pound. This is for the WHOLE shopping cart checkout (not just buy now button).
Why do you say that it will process in the currency that is set in the general settings? You can set US dollar in the general settings but the transaction will be in the currency that the customers selects before checking out.
Can you explain more on where the confusion is?
OK that is great. It seemed from all the documentation I went through that the addon was only for display purposes.
I just about have my currency and checkout saga solved now. My final issue is that I am using this shortcode for price display:
[wp_eStore_product_details id=2 info=”price_formatted”]
Which is awesome, because the price currency is updated with via the addon.
