Is it possible to change which variations are displayed based on a customer’s selection for another variation?

My site sells conducting batons. For 12- and 14-inch batons, there are three shaft options. But for the 16-inch batons, we only offer carbon fiber shafts. If a customer selects “16 inches”, is there any way for the “Shaft” dropdown to then display only “Carbon Fiber”?

    See example item here: [http://54.200.230.198/wordpress/?page_id=74]

I understand that this is probably just not possible with the eStore plugin, so as an alternative, I have used the Variations UI Addon to mark all non-carbon-fiber 16-inch batons as sold out (0 in stock). Is there any way to edit the sold out text displayed by this addon? I get a standard “… is SOLD OUT!” red text upon adding one of these variations to the cart, rather than the custom sold out button/text I’ve specified in the eStore settings.

We have updated the variations UI addon so it takes the “Sold Out” message from eStore settings. Please download a new copy of that addon now to get this change.

It is not possible to restrict some variations from displaying based on the first variation. What you did with the sold out setup is the correct way to go about it.
