when a client buys a product, they are added to my customer list in Aweber, but they still receive an opt-in email.

I set up my aweber customer list so that it doesn’t require the double opt-in.

Is that only for when a webform is used? Is that different to how estore integrates?

Is there a way to automate using the webform with eStore.

Obviously I am trying to get around this ridiculous inability to change the type of emails I send to prospects as opposed to customers by moving them from one list to another without a second opt-in.

I hope you can help. I find it bizarre that this can’t be automated at the Aweber end.

    Thanks

    Thank you for your response.

Aweber does allow for single opt-in – it is an option you can choose when you create a web form.

I have tested it and it works.

How can I integrate estore to opt-in via the form?

What I meant is that AWeber doesn’t allow a 3rd party application like eStore to disable the double opt-in via API. You can disable it in your list by logging into your AWeber account and changing the settings:

Yes, but it still triggers a double opt-in – so I have the setting to say that no double opt-in is required. I have tested it, and it works.

Nut when a purchase is made, it still ends up asking for a confirmtion to opt-in.

Okay, that proves that AWeber still doesn’t allow subscription via API without opt-in confirmation. You can ask them if they have any way to disable double opt-in when subscribing via API (like what MailChimp does). If they introduce an option to do this then I will add it in the plugin.
